Home of Amarula Cream Liqueur
Amarula Lapa is the official home to South Africa’s best loved liqueur, Amarula Cream.
The Lapa is a promotional tasting facility that offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy an ice cold glass of Amarula Cream whilst learning more about the history and uses of the legendary Marula tree as well as the versatility of the product at hand.
Production tours are held of the Primary Production plant during the harvesting season that annually runs from January to March. |

Visitors are invited to come and enjoy a chilled glass of this sought after ambrosia at the Home of Amarula Cream Liqueur. The facility stocks a unique range of Amarula branded clothing and curios as well as vast quantities of Amarula Cream.

Amarula Cream dates back to 1989, and since then has grown into a world leader. |
 |
Amarula Cream is made from the fruit of the indigenous Marula tree, also known as the “marriage tree” or the “elephant tree”. |
 |
In February and March of every year, the Marula tree bears the delicious fruit from which the vitamin rich juice is collected for processing. |
 |
Once the fruit is gathered, mostly by the local inhabitants, the kernel is removed and the flesh crushed from the skin. |
 |
The Marula flesh is then fermented, similar to the wine making process. |
 |
After fermentation, the Marula wine is distilled in copper pot-stills. |
 |
Maturation follows in small oak casks for about two years. |
 |
The distillate is then enriched with pure Marula extract and blended with the finest cream to create the breathtakingly smooth taste of Amarula Cream. |
