Some interesting information anout our shop

Our project is only open to persons from the Ba-Phalaborwa area that is currently unemployed or solely employed by their craft, as well as pensioners and disabled persons.

All articles are handmade or improved upon by the crafter. Our members receive money directly from goods sold, which they produce.

We are a united group of people where multi-raced persons work well together. We draw inspiration and gain encouragement from one another thereby creating our rainbow nation. No racism exists in our projects as a constitution and rules, to which everyone adheres, governs us.

Our hand made articles are of the highest standard and one can always be assured of buying a quality item. Based on the quality of our crafts we qualified for the National Craft Imbizo. The project is run by an elected committee who apply a system of quality control of all items brought in. Hlanganani have been able to help those in our community that needed uplifting from poverty, by showing them that hand work, perseverance and improving the quality of their craft enables them to sell more items which in turn result in a monthly income.

We would appreciate your support of our project, as you will be helping others to become proud of their craft and give them the dignity they deserve. Many of our tourist friends return to visit us on every trip to the Kruger National Park. Often to buy more of the quality items that they had the opportunity of purchasing before.
Please do us the courtesy of filling in our visitors’ book on your turn to the shop.

Hlanganani Arts & Crafts a curio shop with a difference as each article is unique and special, not only the normal curio line.

We are presently able to accommodate up to 30 members in our building but are currently saving towards a larger permanent structure that would allow more members of the disadvantaged community to join, thereby creating job opportunities.
